Welcome to the personal project exhibition website for the International school of London grade 10 class of 2019/20.
Message from the Personal Project Coordinator |
Coordinating and taking part in the personal project is not unlike having a baby. Its fun to start the whole process off, there is a long gestation period in the middle, and a lot of pushing, pain and screaming and at the end. But here we are with over forty projects to show off, its just a pity that we were not able to celebrate together in the usual, more personal, exhibition.
I would like to share my thanks and congratulations with the grade 10 for all their hard work on the personal project. I am always surprised and delighted to see the range of projects that emerge and some of the wonderful service learning that takes place alongside. Given the unusual situation 2020 has thrown at us, I hope you will all agree that our students have adapted their projects to an online exhibition beautifully. Please enjoy our variety of projects, appreciate the work that went in to them, and above all share your congratulations with our students. |
This is probably the most proud moment as the MYP Coordinator. What better way to conclude the MYP than the Personal Project exhibition – be it physical or virtual! The range of skills and interests our Grade 10 students have demonstrated through their project is truly impressive. This self-initiated and self-directed learning process highlights our students’ deep understanding of themselves in the world around them. In addition, the students have demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills, creativity, effective communication skills, perseverance, and resilience throughout the journey. All of these skills are essential survival skills in the 21st century! I quote John Dewey “If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.

Message from the School Principal |
It is a tribute to the dedication and insight of our Grade 10 students that such a diverse and deeply interesting set of Personal projects have been achieved this year. Not only have our students demonstrated thorough enjoyment and inquiry through their achievements, but they have also shown an added resilience beyond the regular scope of this extensive process by producing on-line portfolios showcasing their products and reports; in lieu of the normal in-school exhibition. Sensitive and poignant themes that we face in our world today have been analysed in remarkable ways through the MYP Personal Project global contexts. In this, our Gr10 students have set a remarkable example of how each one of us should reflect upon, evaluate and act with rich integrity when responding to the humanitarian and environmental needs of today. On behalf of ISL, we are so very proud of your accomplishments.
